ABOUT JAMES
JAMES DURNO James Durno is a Fine Artist and Visual Communications Consultant, working in multiple disciplines and styles within the corporate, fine art, advertising, design and editorial fields. He has lectured Fine Art and illustration at various institutions in the Eastern Cape and Johannesburg. He is an award winning author and illustrator of children’s books, and has also Art Directed for Cambridge University Press. James has had more than thirty Fine Art Exhibitions, both group and solo, in the last nineteen years. His works hang in numerous private and corporate collections (including the Presidential Collection in the Tuinhys library) in South Africa, Holland, Germany, UK and USA. Corporate collections include: Bidvest, WesBank, BATSA, SA Breweries,THRIP, Deloitte and Touche, UCB and ABSA. James has combined his Fine Art with more than eighteen years experience as a Commercial Artist and Cartoonist, to develop a rich variety of Visual Languages. He provides simple, tailor made, picture based communications packages for companies, live Visual and Graphic facilitation, Big Picture and Future Backwards mapping as well as detailed in studio Strategy Mapping and Corporate Fine Art that capture values, processes and abstracts in Visual Metaphor. He has worked with numerous groups as a visual facilitator, including Tomorrow Today, Accenture, LR, Converse, Linkage Southern Africa, SMC, Strategic Partners, Symphonia, PWC, Narrative Lab, Win-Win Group, Wisdom Games, Elephants in Main Street, PD, Art Storm/Tomorrow Imagine and Trainiac.
